If we put aside for one moment the fact that nike is a super nasty multinational corporation who thinks nothing of misappropriating underground culture to sell a few more shoes to the kids (more here and here), then what we have here is a very interesting project.
It involves the transformation of an old indoor swimming pool in Dagenham, east London (which was set for demolition) into a world class bmx/ skate park in less than two weeks. I particularly like the fact that they appear to have kept the original diving board – Check this vid of the launch event where a bunch of pros put it through it’s paces.
At just over 6min long its worth a watch to get the full story, and its full of bangers, but tune in from the 5min mark to get the idea if you havent got time to watch the whole thing.
Maybe i should just get over it?
